T and Sam's sleepover

Tiernan had his first sleepover on Friday night. Let's just say that Mama was a tad.....no ALOT nervous. His best buddy Sam is very attached to his Mammy and has never been left with anyone but his grandparents before. He also makes himself sick when he gets upset, so needless to say, I was a little nervous!

I shouldn't have worried for a second, the boys had so much fun! They wolfed down hamburgers and french fries and then chased after each other tickling for about half an hour.

We changed them into their Jammies and they settled down to watch Toy Story.

What can I say, they were engrossed by Toy Story

They then decided that it was time to get up and mess around, they entertained each other for about an hour before bed time.

They both slept like angels, they must have worn each other out. Sam woke once and was easily put back to sleep and they woke literally within minutes of each other in the morning.

They had a good breakfast and were ready for the day!

It was a great experience for everyone involved, my friend got some much deserved alone time with her hubby, the boys had great fun and so did Tony and I just watching the boys interact.

We have decided to make it a regular occurance!

Best Friends Forever

Tiernan's best bud and partner in crime is Sam. The boys love spending time with each other, play great together and have developed this really great and unique bond, which comes through in today's photos.

I hope that they remain such good friends as they grow up together!!

Little Monkey

Tiernan has been very enamoured by my laundry basket lately. This morning I found out why, he uses it as a platform for his mischief!!

Pancake Sunday

We have started our own "Lazy Sunday Morning Pancake" tradition.

We make a little bed on the living room floor with blankets and pillows and let T watch Teletubbies while we make breakfast.

We alternate between Buttermilk pancakes and Swedish Pancakes accompanied by berries and on very special days, bacon and eggs.

Tiernan loves himself some pancakes, but is even more partial to berries!

He likes to thank us for his yummy breakfast by gifting us with one of his infamous "open mouthed" kisses. It was Daddy's turn this morning!

We are very grateful to have a little boy who appreciate the effort we make and who helps with the cleanup.

Little T takes Duchess for a walk

Tiernan loves the dogs and cats at my boss's house. In fact his first word beyond Mama, Dada and Baba, was CAAAATTTT, much to my chagrin (not a cat lover here).




He particularly loves to chase their pomeranian around, brandishing her leash at her. She is pretty good with him and allows him to play with her, and to actually walk her.

It just cracks me up to see him walking about the local dog park, as if he owns the place, Duchess in tow, until she decides she has had enough and takes off for the car, dragging T behind her.

Randall Museum Trip

On this dark and dreary dismal day, (don't you just love alliteration) we decided to visit The Randall Museum.

It's a really cute little museum situated in a rally picturesque spot (if it wasn't so dismal) with great views of the city.

Inside they have various exhibits, the main theme being Earthquakes and we visited the following ones:

• The Toddler Treehouse - cute little room with building blocks, train table, books about farting dogs .
• The Animal Room - area that houses rabbits, guinea pigs, hens, turtles etc that the kids are allowed to go in and pet.
• The Theatre - we briefly looked in here, but thye had someone talking to the kids about different animals, it looked like the older kids were having fun, but T was too boisterous.
• The Earthquake Shack, a lifesiz replica of the shacks built to house families after the 1906 earthquake and subsequent fires. T rocked out in the little rocking chair and tried to be a great little chambermaid by stripping the cot bed.

There were lots more to do and see, and the museum offers courses and classes in lots of different arts and crafts. It will be a great place to take Little T as he grows. I think it is geared more for kids 2-3+ but we definately had a great time and will be sure to put it in our rotation of places we visit regularly.
